They are supposed to be able to handle and do more so I would think split screen would become possible on more game than in the previous generation. I don't see why split screen isn't added in more games with these next gen consoles. I have heard of people buying both consoles to get every game but haven't heard of what you are talking about from anyone. I'll be honest I don't know a single person that has 2 PS4's or 2 X1's in their household. So in a single home there can be 2 ps4's and that's how people will be doing the new "split-screen"

More and more people buy a console each for every user of the household.
BO1 PC SPLITSCREEN PS4
But ps4 and Xbox and PC the whole issue of cross-plateform gaming is a long way off as of yet. In the next gens you will see less split screen and more of the party games "minis" multiple people playing the same level base game moving forward like Mario bros. Why would they need to degrade the graphics at all? This is PS4 we're talking about, I have no doubts whatsoever that the system can handle it with ease. Given that information, how often will cross-platform honestly work? Doesn't sound often to me. Builds must be in sync for cross-platform play
BO1 PC SPLITSCREEN UPDATE
PC will consistently update earlier than PS4 Yes, Cross-play will allow a work-around to my situation, but as I stated in the OP this is a "precarious option at best" due to what DE already told us Working on bugs isn't stopping them from working on cross-play, for example. I agree, but i would still like to see the feature at some point. And I don't see split screen working well at all, they would need to degrade the graphics considerably. Why would they want to implement split screen for ps4 when they could be trying to work with Sony to get cross-platform? Then you being a veteran at the pc would be able to play with you're brother on PlayStation. I think they should just work on getting the game's bugs ironed out. This would be an ideal feature for me and likely many, many others. What I would like to see implemented is a split-screen feature, so that we can both play together as a squad on the same Ps4, each naturally logged into our own PSN accounts. This would be a good step forward, but I also read that it will only work when the builds are in sync, so this is a precarious option at best. I've heard of the cross-platform feature yet to come, which I assume means PC and PS4 players will be able to play together in the same matches. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this as the game stands now. Co-op is something we've done with so many games in the past, and naturally we look forward to doing the same with Warframe. My brother doesn't have a gaming computer to run the game, so when we heard the game was coming to PS4, naturely we were excited to get him started and play the game together.

My brother has shown an interest in this game for some time now, and I'm a veteran PC player of the game.
